The FMS system from Fastems links together 8 CNC 5 Axis machines Burkhardt+Weber MCT900, fully automated.
Capacity Details:

- Predicted system availability: 96%
- Able to run completely unmanned for up to 48 hours.

Multi-Level Storage-Heavy Duty and Stacker Crane
The MLS has a total storage capacity of 96 machine pallets and 108 material pallets, providing an unmanned operation autonomy of up to 48 hours.
The pallets are transported to/from machines as per the schedule with an automated stacker crane.
Centralized Tool Storage
All the tools required for our operations are located in the Centralized Tool Storage. Having a capacity of 1700 tools, the CTS is served by two robots, which are programmed to deliver the tools to/from the machines automatically, as per the optimum schedule. The CTS is fully integrated with the Zoller tool pre-setter for maintaining tool data accuracy.
Centralized Chips and Coolant Management Plant
All the coolant used in the machining process is recirculated and filtrated continuously to ensure the best constant quality and purity of the cutting fluid that reaches the machines. Metal chips are also evacuated together with the coolant. The filtration plant has a handling capacity of 5500 liters/min.
MMS5 Software
The MMS5 software is the “brain” of our FMS system, which controls all the elements of the system. It ensures proper scheduling by considering the demand and resources and provides very good reporting on production events and system utilization. It ensures traceability details are being followed throughout the entire manufacturing cycle.
