WELD OVERLAY CLADDING
At Delta, we have invested heavily in weld overlay cladding capabilities to provide our customers with the full Cladding and Machining package.
Delta has the weld overlay technology to clad bores from 2” up to 48” diameter.
Our experienced weld overlay technicians operate numerous Fronius ETR systems, Fronius CCC systems, and Polysoude cladding system.
We have pre-heating machines and in-house PWHT furnace (8 tons).
Qualified Weld Overlaying Procedures
Delta cladding has developed weld overlaying procedures for Ni-Based alloys (625) and Stainless Steel (316L) on C.S or Low Alloy Steel parent materials used specifically in the oil and gas industry
These welding procedures are fully qualified and endorsed based on customers’ specifications, ASME Sec. IX and API 6A.
IUT – Immersion Ultrasonic Testing
The IUT is a technologically advanced NDE machine with a six-axis ultrasonic scanning mechanism, by which components and materials of any complex shape are 100% scanned for the detection of internal flaws, cracks, and other imperfections. This is achieved by immersing the component into a water-filled tank, in which the water serves as a medium to transmit high-frequency sound waves from the ultrasonic transducer at the surface, down into the submerged component. Defects are detected through the reflection of sound energy back to the transducer, which converts it into electrical signals. The location, size, and orientation of any detected defects are eventually determined – with high accuracy by the program connected to an ultrasonic flaw detector that analyzes the reflected signals.
This sophisticated set-up is far superior to the traditional ultrasonic inspection equipment considering the numerous advantages it offers:
- Safety: Since the process is free from any form of radiation, it offers a very safe inspection methodology for both the personnel attending the inspection and the surrounding environment.
- Accuracy: It detects flaws with high levels of accuracy and precision, with its scanning mechanism covering the smallest of defects.
- Versatility: It can be effectively utilized to inspect a wide range of material types of different shapes and various sizes.
- Repeatability: It offers consistent, repeatable results across multiple cycles of inspections.
- Reporting: It provides detailed information about the materials’ characteristics and conditions, backed with high resolution scanned images.
- Harmless: It s mechanism does not cause any damage to the components being tested.
